🌉 Petersburg without crowds: Kolomna and New Holland

Photo: A.Savin, FAL · Wikimedia Commons
Quiet old Kolomna: the island of ship timber, the naval cathedral and the crossroads of canals from which you can see seven bridges.
Getting there
Suburban train from Stary Peterhof station to Baltiysky railway station — about 40 minutes, then metro or taxi. In summer you can return by Meteor hydrofoil across the gulf from the centre to the Lower Park.
What to take
Comfortable shoes, an umbrella.
Stops
- New Holland — A man-made island of ship timber, where logs were dried the Dutch way.
- St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral — Turquoise-and-white sailors' baroque in quiet Kolomna.
